car won't start
I need help ,yesterday i changed the starter in the car, because i thought that it went bad.at that time when i turned the switch i would get a click.and the engine did nothing,so i changed ths starter.and for the rest of the day it worked fine.this morning when i went to drive it to work i turned the switch and it did nothing at all.not even the click that i was getting before.has anybody ever had this problem,or know what it is.
If you have lights, it isn't any fuse. The path is power to the ignition sw ......thru the switch when it's put to START to the interlock switch.......to the Starter Cut Relay once you press the clutch pedal in......to the starter solenoid.
If you have no Theft system then there is no Starter Cut Relay. It is replaced by a BLUE connector to the harness that has a single wire jumpered from one socket to the other.
After checking to see if the lights work, then make sure the lights stay bright when you go to START (and there is no click). If they stay bright, then put a meter on the single small wire that connects to the starter solenoid and see if you get 12vdc on it when you go to START. If there's no power, trace the circuit backwards from the solenoid to the Starter Cut Relay......to the Interlock Switch.......to the Ignition key.......from the Ignition Key connectors Black wire back to the engine fuse box (a single blade connector about a half foot below the engine fuse box.
See the online FSM wiring schematic. Section A.
