Question Car Won't Start

Hey All,
About a week ago I went to start my car (1987 TII) and it wouldnt even turn over, it makes a slight clicking, hissing noise. I got some freinds and we push started it, so that cancelled out all the engine, fuel, etc problems. So i tried to jump start it later that day to see if it was the battery, it woudnt start tho, not even turn over, so I had the starter rebuilt by a freind (mechanic) reinstalled it and everything and still didnt work, so I went back to my mechanic and he said my ignition wasnt getting enough power to the starter, only 6 out of 12 somethings (sorry, new rx owner). So he put in a relay, it was a box thing he put next to the starter and wired it up. It started after he did this, i turned it off and on many many times and it worked everytime, probably like 10 plus times. BUT the next day i go to start it and it makes a weird (louder) then b4 clicking sound, sounds almost elictric i dunno. so wtf is goin on?? i've tried everything i can think of, i'm goin back to the mechanic but not for awhile cuz we're both busy and stuff. so n e help will b GREATLY APPRECIATED. Ppl tell me this is where to get all my answers so thx i really appreciate it. HELP me!!

you have a dead battery or loose/disconnected grounds or battery leads and have flooded the engine.

For unflooding read the owners manual or read the FAQ for FC sticky thread at the top of this section.
