Angry car won't run

i just bought a 87 rx7 turbo II and it won't run. The guy i bought it from said the fuel pump wasn't getting power, but he doesn't know what he was talking about cause it is. If the car sits over night it will start up, after a few seconds a buzzer sounds and will not go off and after i turn the engine off it won't start again??? it also smokes a lot, but it has been sitting for a while. any suggestions would be really helpful

What do you mean won't run? You said the car will start so I can only assume you can drive it around.

The buzzer could be a few things, low oil, low coolant, maybe something else I am forgetting.

Please be more elaborate on what problems you are having.

I think my engine has been overheated. How can I check to see if the coolant seals are good?
Fill coolant system ALL THE WAY UP (engine cold). Make sure that the fluid level is as high as you can get it. Leave the filler cap off. Remove the EGI fuse. Crank the motor (it should not start). If you get a LARGE amount of coolant coming out of the coolant fill, its safe to assume your coolant seals are blown. Also, a good indication is a fuel/exhaust smell in the coolant.

Still not making much sense. So you can start it, run it, turn it off but then it won't start unless you ait a day? It sounds like it is either getting coolant or too much fuel in the chambers. Does it smoke? Is there a color to the smoke? More info please.

the car does smoke and it is a blueish color, most likely oil. i checked the coolant yesterday which was low and when i filled it, it all came right back out. going to take off the cover underneath today to try and find out where the coolant is coming from. the car did sit for a long time, is it normal for them to smoke after sitting?

Yah, seals might dry out over time but I would just get the car in a running condition and drive it around for a while.

Now when you say you filled the coolant and it all came out, what do you mean? It all came out the bottom of the radiator? The bottom of the engine?

i took the splash gard off yesterday and added some more coolant, it all comes out of the radiator. The engine is starting to smoke less evertime i can get it to start, so i think the smoke was just from it sitting for so long

You need to get the radiator fixed as soon as possible, the car is not going to run very well without it. I would also think that the car is flooding since if you let it sit it will run. You said the smoke is bluish? That's probably just from sitting so long and the oil building up in the engine, it will go away after awhile.

First things first, get that radiator fixed or buy a new one!
