car starts then dies

car starts then dies

yea like i said my 87 is starting up well and about 2 seconds later it turns off...please help me what can be wrong? any ideas greatly appreciated

i would first check for vaccume leaks. check for missing or split vaccume lines. check your brake booster to intake manifold hose.

maybe. check the connector at the afm first. make sure its tightly connected.

Crank and die screams vacuum leak! Besides the numerous vacuum lines running around the engine bay, there are possible leaks at the fuel injectors and at the gaskets between the TB and the UIM and between the UIM and the LIM. Vacuum leaks can be the devil to find.

i feel stupid to say i dont know where any of these dam wires are....cept for the manifold that goes into the air filter tube

..and the clutch isnt even go back up i press it down and it stays down can this be related

Not related...

Is the entire air intake system intact from the AFM back? No intake leaks?

Could be actually. Check for squirrels living under the hood. Chewed wires and lines are always a problem. And I'm not even joking this time

Eh my vert was swapped to manual, so I dont have to have the clutch in. I can just leave the car in neutral and crank it up without the clutch down...never caused a issue(dont do this that often).
