car starts and dies after 2 seconds

hi, well my 1990 TII has been garage for like 2 months and in the time he was garaged i decided to put a fpr, so do all the thing i need to do to put it on. after i put everything and check if everything is hook up right i decided to start the engine, the engine starts but it shuts down rigt after a second or two, my first thought was that i forgot to put a vacuum line so i check all the vacuum lines and yes i forgot to put 3 vacuum lines from the uim lol so i put them on and try again and still is the same result, so i check all the vacuum lines from the engine and they're all in they're place. i also checked every plug and they're on there place, i really don't know whats happening, everytime this has happened to me is because ive forgot to put one vacuum line but this time they're all in there place and everything is were its supposed to be. any info that someone can give me will be aprreciated.

thanks

check the AFM wiring... it sounds like that isn't hooked up. If you missed the vac lines its possible that you missed that too (I know I've done it). A REALLY leaky TID will produce similar symptoms too.

it could have something to do with your mass airflow sensor... mine was messed up and was doing the same thing...

well after searching for every single thing on my car i came upon the problem i was having, it happens to be that the throtlle body elbow was a little open because i didn't tight it up completely, by this being a little open the air was not compressed completely making my car start and shut down right after i started, i fix that and boom good as new but i definetely have to go to a dyno to tune the boost controller and the fpr along with the safc. when i accelerate hard i just see a big black smoke coming out of my mufllers so im running rich, will tune car soon.

later and thanks for your help

I had the exact same thing on my 87TII when I'd replaced all the rubber vacuum hose stuff - start, run 2 seconds and die just like I'd turned the switch. it was the hose that connects into the intercooler that was leaking. it gets vulcanized and can crack easily.
