Car is smoking after 6000rpm(88 n/a)

Ok, I have an 88 GTU, RB road race header and custom exhaust(cory simpsons old car, if any of you remember his exhaust)...ok, after 6k, the thing smokes lightly, blue smoke, and then when shifting it lets out ALOT...It is running premix, MOP removed, and it does burn some oil I believe...not sure because the oil filter was leaking and I just replaced that...Could this be the oil seals? the engine has 150k or so...also it smokes when just revving, not under a load 6-7k...and all of this was done after being properly heated up

thanks

mine did that before it blew up

something about oil blow-by? also my oil seals were shot so that didn't help

does it smoke a lot during startup?

maybe a few puffs on startup, not really noticeable, ive never really payed attention...but when I shift, or rev, or let off at high rpms, I can leave a big smoke screen(i.e. wreck causing smoke screen)

I drove my 12A SP with bad oil control rings for 50K miles. It was a fresh rebuilt street port from Hayes and it smoked from day 1 til I sold it.

How much oil did you have to add to it? I have to add like a quart a week, depending how much it is redlined...

I was using about 1 qt per 750 miles. Hayes told me that was "normal" on a street ported engine and they all smoked like that
