car missing and tach not working/please help
i have a 91 rx7 N/A,i just had new clutch put in it and when i got it back the first thing to go was the sterio,i was getting power from the 12v constant wire but not to the 12v ignition wire. so thought nothing of this for now and went on to work.when i got off work i went to start the car and it started real week like the battary wasent charged but the volt meter was at 12v.so as i went to pull out of the lot the tach. droped and quit working and the check engine light came on.the car runs alittle rough and misses bad when i get on it a little to get to speed. the car still starts but weak and the voltmeter dosent show the alternator charging the battary until i reved it to 3k or higher. i think it is a short in the fuse box to the 15a engine fuse but i could be wrong so i am asking for help..sorry if this has already been posted somewere i thought i looked but could find nothing similer..thanks.

Since you did the clutch recently...I know there is a ground that may have to be unbolted when removing the transmission. This may not have been connected back. There is also a noise capacitor that bolts at or near the slave cylinder (which is mounted on the bellhousing). Also check underneath to make sure your neutral, reverse and 5th gear wiring isn't damaged. Check your connections to the starter (which would have been removed).
I'm assuming they removed the tranny to get to the clutch. Around the shifter, there are some plugs that plug into each other (bad design) that aren't supposed to be connected or else stuff will fry (I believe Aaron Cake had some info on this - search). I say this because these plugs are near the shifter, although they shouldn't be touched to change a clutch.
