Car Just Died

Let me explain
My son and I have a 1986 N/A Rx7 and he was driving home from work when the car just died. It died while moving. He drifted into a parking lot.
Here are the symptoms.
1) Battery is okay. All lights not controlled by the ignition on position work. Dome, headlights, tail lights etc.
2) There are no dashboard indicator lights. The radio does not work. All these are controlled by the ignition switch.
3) Engine does not turn over.

Any one have any thoughts on this.
Thanks in advance

i think it may be a wire going from the +battery wire to the little fuse box by the driver side tower.. happened to me while cleaning the engine bay

So when you turn it to the ON position nothing happens? And when you turn the key nothing happens? Like no starter whirr?

Hmm. It sounds like the ignition switch is acting up. I can't think of a test to see if it is indeed the problem but by the sounds of it you might need a new switch.

My car did the same thing however when I would put the key to the on posistion it would just go click once and thats it, it ended up being the ignition pig tail that is found on any rx7 from 86 to 90 and I got it through one of the forum members for like 15 bucks and it was very easy to change out.
