car has no power (electric)

yesterday i got in the car to start it and turned it to start. then it clicked, so i brought the key back and tried again. it clicked then the whole car went dead. today i changed out the main fuse(even though it looked fine) then stole the main relay off of another car i have just in case it was blown. tried to start it and the whole car still has no power. the battery terminals are clean and all the grounds are connected and clean contact. any ideas? i think its a short, but the question is where?

thanks

Have you checked the voltage at the batter with a meter? The clicking then the car going dead sounds like a dead battery. Can you throw another battery on it to get it started? After you get it running check the voltage again to see if the alternator is putting out power.

when you turn the key on, what does the voltmeter on the dash say??? How about when you crank the car.

Sounds like you have a dead battery or loose battery connection.

thats the thing, i tested the battery. its a Tii so no voltage meter. deffinately a good connection with new terminals. ill try throwing in a different batt tomorrow, but this one is only a few months old. there is no power ANYWHERE, the little light on the boost controller behind the greddy sign doesnt even light up, but the batt has plenty of power. i just dont understand how this is possible. unless like the main power line is somehow split in half? ill do some more testing tomorrow.

thanks
