Car Died While Driving, No Electrical Power, Clicking When Trying To Start

Ok so the other night, my car died on me like completely, I doubt I blew the motor, but its still a possibility. As I was driving, I was kind of pushing hard because my friend was drunk and pissed off driving somewhere so I was trying to find him, but as I was on my way back to the house, my clutch fully depressed all the way to the floor, then the car died. Next as I'm trying to start the car in first so I can just drive in first gear back to the house, the lights flicker on and off. I didn't touch the light switch. I kept trying to start the car the light just turned off completely. I'm under the impression that the alternator just took a ****, and now the battery is also. Buuut there has to be a reason for it to go out, like a circuit relay is broken or something.....So I'm just wondering what could be the issue. other than the alt and batt. Also what is the common electrical problems with the 2nd gen?

If anyone has any type of info, please reply... because this car is my babay! Can't let her go!

Thank you
Hasan

Sometimes if you go to crank it and it just dies completely, it's the battery connection. Give it a little jiggle. BUT, if it started to die while driving, it's probably an issue with your alternator. If it's the original alternator, it's most likely dead or on it's way out.

They dimmed sometimes, until I put a better connector on the battery...... It's not the original alt..

Ok It was battery connection, but I did and alt and batt check and they were going to burn out pretty soon so I just bought a new alt and batt. Now what is the most commone electrical issue?
