going to work this morning, i got halfway there and realized i should prob. turn my headlights on. i did and the car instantly died! i had nothin. after work i got it jumped started,it fired right up, made it almost to the house when i hit the brakes, it died again! im assuming its the alternater but just wanted to be sure. oh yeah after work i checked my battery and touched the negative side and it was pretty warm if that says anything?

 

Turn your car on no lights nothing and check the voltage at the posts it should be 14V if not bad alt

 

the car is at 14v going by the guage in the car with nothing on and car runnin.

 

Really sounds like a bad alt. wouldnt hurt to replace the battery if its a bit old too.
