On a really hot Florida day, after driving my car for about 30-45min in stop and go traffic, the idle gets really choppy and the car wont rev over 2.5k in any gear so I am forced to limp the car home everytime...

The weird problem is that if I allow the car to sit for 1 hour (2 on a really hot day) it drives fine again for another 30-45min... Could a faulty MAF cause this?

When I gutted my cats, the precat was completely empty, but the main cat had what seemed like a metal ring in it that I couldnt take out and I doubt there was anyway it could block any air...

Any ideas? Suggestions are welcome... Thanks.
