Can't open Sunroof, leaking, HELP
Well I've tried manually opening the sunroof with an allen key, no go,...I can't get the sunroof to lift at the rear edge.
Any more force on the allen key and something may break,...any ideas?!,...
the car has clogged sunroof vents and I have to be able to get at them.

Ok, cables rusted/corroded SOLID.
I know because I took out the headliner and dropped the whole unit,...what a PITA job the first time around.
Factor in a lot of very brittle 23 year old interior parts and thats what you get to start with.
After I got the headliner out(be more careful than me trying to get it off around the sunroof aperture, there are metal tabs, bent over the edge holding it on all around, leave this for last as you have to shimmy the headliner around to clear these), I could get at all the drain tubes easily and they pulled off so's I could check them out by blowing thru them,...they were ALL clear?!
now, this is where I should have stopped.
I dropped the whole sunroof out, great right?,...well the corroded cables made it impossible to disassemble,...lets just say frustration level started going up about here.
I ended up wrestling, and I mean really wrestling with trying to get it back in, there's a lip on the rear edge of the cars sunroof aperture that you need to get the rear edge of the sunroof panel up and over from inside the car as you raise the unit into place.
Because I could'nt raise the sunroof relative to the frame it made this almost impossible.
At the end of the day the water is wicking around the edge of the sunroof panel and onto the headliner panel.
at this time of the year I recommend taping it up till the rain stops or you can get someone who's dealt with it before to fix it.
My original dealer bought new FC developed this same problem that I was never able to figure out, that sunroof worked and I cleaned out the drains a couple time but it always leak after a lot of heavy rain,...ahhh,...hello west coast winter?!
Anyone know about this wicking thing or have an idea. The sunroof frame and trays leading to the drains were spotless.
This car I worked on today was parked level.
