Can't get rid of the problem..

Well, I've got an S5 so the problem with the idle being rough can't be the tps. I called a guy who knows better than me, because after I took off the TIC I noticed there were 2 sensors.. He said that it's probably one of the hoses, though I already checked everything that's connected to the turbo. The engine bushings are almost gone, so that's something I'll have to look into.

But what's concerning me the most is the fact that the previous owner told me that the car didn't burn that much oil.. I know I'll have to check the pump and the injector, but before I even try to do it I'd like to know how hard it'll be? Haven't read the service manual yet, but I reckon it'll be a bit like checking the fuel injectors on a mk II gti golf? Checking the amount of oil being sprayed in defined time?

Please please help, don't want to ruin this TII by being a total jackass

Oh, and by the way. What is the function for the wire leading to the black box at the passenger side? (In an LHD) checked the box and it seems that the wire hasn't been moving in a while and couldn't figure out what it is?

The MOP (oil injection) check is f'ing easy. Maybe 5 minutes to check it. Just read the FSM. That wouldn't cause a bad idle though, just your engine dying prematurely.

wtf are engine bushings? The only thing on the engine that comes close to a bushing are the motor mounts... maybe you mean bearings?

I think the FSM has a pretty thorough guide for checking bad idle. You need to check all of your vacume lines btw, not just the turbo ones. Number one cause for a bad idle are vacume lines.

Hehe, It's just my bad english and the lack of sleep. Yes it's the motor mounts that are worn. I'm now going through all the lines, though it's a hell of a job, there being so darn many lines

Oh, and the cable (No idea why I mentioned a black wire?) is the secondary throttle cable, though I've never seen such in any other car

I'm going to check the pump too, already got the FSM, but should I use a slight mix of oil in the fuel for sure? (High quality 2-stroke oil allright?) Less than 1% mixture 'cause the pump works, though I'm not sure how well.

Thank you for answering to questions you must've heard a million times. I know, use search.

Sounds like cruise control to me

The TPS has two sensors like you mentioned. It is possible for only one of those to be bad. I checked mine and discovered that the full range sensor was bad, while the narrow range sensor was just fine. I am now waiting for a replacement to arrive.

Have you checked the TPS to make sure it was within specifications? It involves using an ohm-meter while adjusting the throttle (with your hand) all the way open and closed. You can find the directions in the fuel and emissions chapter of the factory service manual. rx7city.com has the FSM posted on their site.

By the way, you will want to have alligator clips (those little spring loaded clamps) attached to the ohm-meter leads because otherwise you will need three hands...lol (ask me how I know). Check out the FSM, and if you still need help private message me and I will try to help.
