can't get rid of brake squeal

I have a TII with brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors. The pads are almost new (3,000 miles) and rotors with the same.

I took the pads off then put some of the spray anti-squel **** and they still squeal (not as bad).

It had the one spring on the pads. I was wondering if i could put another sping (the one in between the pads) on the top to help the bottom one out.

The squeal has been going on for quite some time.

Any suggestions on fixes?

Did you put the rotors on yourself? Because if you did, you need brand new pads if you change the rotors.

What kind of pads? Some pads are going to squeal no matter what.

If you already have new pads, and the springs are in right (you should get new springs when you buy new pads!)

Try painting the shims with copper anti-seise compound (Sometimes new pads come with little packages of goo for that).

I've got a '90 Vert with the sport breaking (4 piston caliper) and they come with two springs per-caliper. If your breaks are the same type, then if you install both springs, the sound should go away.

One time when I was too poor to get my rotors turned (Yeh, I know, shhh!) I just dabbed valve grinding compound on the rotors. Havent squeeked yet (Kinda noisy for the first 10 miles) (I wouldnt actually recommend the this, if you ever need your rotors turned, just go turn them!) :p

(Think this post had enough perentisis?)

Try some of the brake quiet goo from autozone. Smear it all over the BACK side of the pads. If they're aftermarket pads, it could be the linning material has more metalic then organic. Hence, semi-metalic pads. What happens when you put metal on metal? SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL

i have the exact same problem, i have the brembro cross drilled, if you take off the pads and notice i slight indent or groove on the pads (on the bottom)its rubbing againgst the inner lip of the rotors. if this is your problem you have to take the pads to a parts shop and compare them with the pads they have, i think this is a problem with the oem size. or sand down the inner lip and put on new pads( dont know if thios would work though).
I just bought organinc pads and put that stuff that looks like silicone to reduce the sound, not that bad anymore.

that may be, but there are places that take brand new factory direct brembo solid rotors and have them professionally milled to make them drilled and or slotted.

Thats what I am saying. Brembo makes the rotors ok yeah. However a company changes the design of them. So what do u think is going to happen. If a company machines them crappy they will suck.

Hit the brakes fairly hard...Noise goes away, which it probably does? Coat the back of the pads , not with the spray, but a semi-hardening elastic coating. Usually sold in a squeeze bottle. It's the back of the pads moving ever so slightly on the caliper pistons causing the noise. Give it a try.

I've been using them for way over 3k (2k on my rebuilt alone)

I did use the spray on stuff though.

It happens only accasionally now and isnt' a huge problem.

So i should try the squeezy ****
