Can't figure out idle/reving problem

Modified S5 FC TII.

I installed a new fuel pump, built a intake...went to start up the car, it fired ran for 5 seconds or so, then died.

If you hold in the AFM cone a bit it will idle, but not great. It seems to run best with no AFM, but it still died.

During this i noticed the oil pressure had dropped, but it seems to have picked back up.

I tried using a S5 N/a AFM, and no difference.

Most of the time I cant get it to rev past 3000, I did just now tho, most for the most past once it hits 3000, it dies.

Also its backfiring a bunch and there seems to be oil and moisture in the exhaust. This car did run fine before the fuel pump and intake, I have since taken out the intake, and just run the AFM right off of the turbo.

Any Ideas would be fantastic, thanks

Double check the fuel pump install, especially the o-ring if the FC pump uses one. I forgot to put the o-ring in between the FP and assembly in my eclipse, had pretty much the symptoms you're describing. Also, check for vac leaks.

sounds like an intake leak...

do a pressure test and check...

Almost assuredly a vacuum leak (a big one) your engine is getting air that the Air flow meter is not measuring (hence the reason that it will run with you pushing on the AFM.)

The starting is due to the priming pulse, my engine starts with no intake or exhaust manifold (for a little while) it starts, reves to 3000 rpm and immediate quits because it is not seeing any airflow to the engine.

Look around for vacuum lines that are disconnected (especially the one to the cruise control and cold starting systems on the back on the block on the passengers side.)
