can you run factory and aftermarket gauges simultaneously?

is it possible to run both a factory gauge and an aftermarket at the same time. for example, i have an oil pressure gauge and a boost gauge from the factory on my TII, then i also have an auotmeter boost and oil pressure gauge. is there any way to run these gauges simultaneously?

Dunno why you'd want to, but that doesn't matter.

The stock boost gauge gets it signal from the manifold pressure sensor, and the Autometer one has to be tapped into a vac line (the manifold pressure sensor kine is a good one), so the two gauges won't effect each other. No probs.
The stock oil pressure gauge sender is usually removed to make way for the new one, but you could go to a hydraulics store and get a tee fitting to screw into the block, then you can screw both senders into that. Both gauges will now work.

does autometer require a special sending unit? and is it electri or hydraulic? it is right under the oil filter correct?

Yes, it requires it's own sending unit. Of course, that, in and of itself means that it's electric (since mechanical guages read actual fluid pressure from an oil feed line).

So if the guage doesn't have a small hardline or braided line coming out of the back, it's electrical.

The stock pressure sender is right under the oil filter.

NZ, not sure if the autometer sender will thread into the stock hole.. I use Racing Beat's oil temp/pressure block that bolts under the oil filter for those senders.

You can run as many gauges are you want, as long as you have the physical space to fit their dedicated senders (electrical) or fittings (mechanical).

You can have your radio on and adjust the volume as well.

You should try to learn something new everyday.
