Can someone help me with power window wiring?

I just bolted in a pair of power window regulators but I can't find the wiring clip in the door. I thought all the cars had this, even though mine is an N/A. Where would I find it? Also, I need the clip for the controller.

in the door harness...if your door harness doesn't have them (as in you have a base, sport, GTU or GTUs) then you need to swap door harnesses as well as the hardware for putting in power windows.

Actually... while we're on topic, Mark, what would you know about installing power mirrors in a base model?

Hey JumpyRoo, the mirror swap is a breeze compared to the window mechs...just unbolt your old mirrors and plug in the new ones and bolt them back in. Take your center console switch plate off and there should be a plug to plug up your new mirrors. I have done this on a few base models and have had no trouble, although you might want to wait until you get the wiring harnesses for the windows and then do it all at once.

That sounds like a good idea, Joe. Does your wiring harness include the plugs for power door locks?

sorry I have been out of town, and don't check in as much because using my hand held PC is a pain.

But, Yep mirror harnesses are there regardless of model.

but for windows... its actuall pretty straightforward if you have the correct door harness. just unplug the plugs in the kick panels, unlock the harness locks at the door and frame, and push the old harness back out into the door.

Replace with the new harness back into the door and then through into the car. There will be all the plugs in the drivers kick panel.

You would want to go to your local car stereo or electrical shop to find that out. They could give you a quote if you are not doing it yourself.

I was going to do it myself. I was just needing a rough estimate. <100, <200 etc.

Sorry for being so vague.

If you get junk yard parts, or new Spal power windows, you might be able to do it for under $200.

If you get new Mazda parts, I would expect it to be around $600-$1000

Thanks for the info. Way too much money for me to just have automatic windows. Lazy passengers can just roll em down .
