Exclamation Can some post pic of car with lowering springs?

I need pics specifically of cars using either the Intrax Lowering Springs (1.75" drop) or the Suspension Technique 1" drop springs. I wanna know exactly how LOW it makes the car. THANKS!

Intrax is a piece of crap. Get Suspension Techniques, RB or Eibachs. if you are on stock 15 inch wheels, you wont notice a huge differecen. Stock RX-7 rides low enough as it is, plus stock springs sag over time. By the time you look, it will only be .25 to .5 inch lower

This is with Eibach pros (3/4 inch drop).

Anything more than 3/4 inch and you need to consider a rear camber adjustment tool. Lowering affects the rear camber but not the front. A 3/4 in drop gave me 1.5 degrees negative camber in the back, but I still had 0-.5 degrees positive in the front. In hard cornering conditions, this promotes lots of understeer unless you also have adjustable shocks.

The Ground Control look like more of a drop than anything I have seen. It might be the size 55 tires though. What is the drop? Do you think it will sit the same as the pic with tire size 215/40/17? Thanks.

Mine is dropped .75" front and 1.25" rear with the ground control setup.

Those are factory 1988 TII wheels. 16" x 7".

The front tires are 205/55/16.

The rear tires are 225/50/16.

Where did you get the 1.25" drop from HKS? I saw the 1.5" drop at www.rx7store.net but thats the only HKS springs I saw offered. Thanks.

I actually got them from the RX-7 store. I'm sure mine are the same as the 1.5" HKS springs you're referring to. Every other place I've seen that offers them says they are a 1.25" drop. Probally just misinformation or a typo. I find it hard to believe that they dropped my car 1.5" anyways.

Hey Mykl,

Thanks for remembering me!

I've just been busy. I still have the car and have a few mods on the way.

I'll post again.

Thanks!

hey Ryde _Or_Die,

What exhaust do you have for your car - it looks sweet! what was the performance gain? How much did it cost and where did you buy it?

thanks,
-Kris-

If you're referring to the red car, that's mine. It's the Greddy Power Extreme. I felt a little power gain from the midrange on up with it. Already took off my cats before that though. That's where the real results come from. I think the only place to get them now is from rx7.com, Rotary Performance. I picked mine up used for $450. Only had 1000 miles on it.

Ya Chance must be talking about you cuz I don't have a pic of my car up, and if I did he prolly wouldn't be impressed with the stock exhaust with some minor modifications done to it(rust & small holes ). No one will see my car till it is done. Then you guys can go, WOW!

Last I remember the engine had popped? Do I remember right? I think I also remember some electrical problem keeping the battery from keeping a charge. Did you get all that worked out?

With such a beast how many more modifications are left to do on it?

I used to be down in Baton Rouge every other weekend. I haven't had time lately, but the next time I head down there I'll have to let you know. It would be cool to get a chance to meet you and check out your car.

wow good info, I was planing on getting some GC's in the spring time. I don't know why you couldn't get them down. no one else has had problems that I have seen. you should have gotten the camber/caster plates that would probably help. the CC plates are 50% of the reason I'm buying coil overs in the first place.

FYI the mazdacomp coil over setup is 400lbs/275 with 7" front 10". so I don't know why you had problems. I guess because of the tender spring.

Yep, I still have a broken engine. I just don't have $3500 right now. I think this break from the car will help me to appreciate it more once I get the engine rebuilt.

I took care all electrical problems by installing a 3rd gen alternator. Actually, the 80 amp '89-'91 alternator was charging the battery but, I had bought it used and it broke. The 3rd gen alternator was bought new. The original 70 amp alternator just wouldn't keep the battery charged after I installed the Black Magic e-fan.

This time the engine will get a divided exhaust manifold and I'll go back to the 1.15 a/r divided turbine housing and the exhaust port will be opened up some more.

Yea, come on down and visit! You might want to wait a couple of months though so you can drive my car.

I don't know what the deal was either. All I know is that with 7" front and 10" rear springs, the car was 1/4" higher front and 3/4" higher rear. That was before the tender springs.

I don't think I need the camber plates, the alignment went just fine without them. Maybe if the front were lower I'd need them.

I think the MazdaComp spring rates will be very nice for road racing. I worry about the length of the springs though. Please let me know how it goes with whatever length you end up with.
