I am building a new engine for my T2 and the core i have doesnt have the extra support around the top dowl on the rear plate.

Has anyone had any experience with reinforcing it by welding a supporting piece to it?

Has anyone reinforced it in any other way

I am looking for a little over a 400 rwhp at about 15 - 17 psi
