can i use NA s5 clutch kit in an S4?
Hi,
I was thinking about ordering a clutch kit for my 87 NA and was wondering if I could order the clutch kit for the 89+ as an upgrade for more clamping force? I want the most affordable option and the stage 1 seems a little pricy compared to the OEM kit. I also enjoy stock pedal effort.
Also, the kit i'm interested in ordering has a koyo throwout bearing, should I stick to Mazda T/O bearing?
Thank You!

What brand and model is the clutch kit? Most brands use the same parts for S4 and S5.
Also, "Stage 1" is just a marketing gimmick. While it may be relative when comparing clutches from the same manufacturer, it is not a consistent method to compare clutch kits between different manufacturers. For example, you could order a "large" drink at a restaurant, and while it is probably bigger than their "medium" drink and smaller than their "extra large" drink, you don't know the degree of the difference, and it may be bigger or smaller than a "large" drink at another restaurant.

i believe the disc will be interchangeable. however, the flywheel should remain the same as the series engine it is bolted to, as the counterweight is incorporated in it. for a stock application, that is
