Can I 'mount' the AFM DIRECTLY in front of the turbo? With the TID and filter after?

Can I 'mount' the AFM DIRECTLY in front of the turbo? With the TID and filter after?
I ask this, because I bought a custom piece of bent 3" pipe off of another forum member for a TID, but his was a s5 with a 'shorter' AFM... Meaning, if I had it set up in the NORMAL order: Turbo inlet-->TID pipe-->AFM-->Filter, it doesn't fit.
If I had it setup as:
Turbo inlet-->AFM-->TID pipe-->Filter, it would fit just fine, because I could "toggle" the 'too long' pipe UPWARDS towards the hood...
Thanks,

First of all I'm not sure the wiring to the AFM will reach. Second..I can't find/remember where I saw it, but I know I saw a reason why that was bad to do..

I don't know; I'm just about to start my rebuild and I don't want it messed up because there's an "unknown" factor in this AFM placement...
Anyone else?
(BTW, thanks for the responses)

I just wanted to know if there were going to be any adverse/immediate side-effects.
I guess I'll mount the AFM directly after the turbo for tonight (about to try starting it in the next 15 minutes) and trim the pipe tomorrow, using the highly technical and advanced method... A hacksaw.
haha. Thanks guys,

Really dumb idea. Apart from the fact that you'll need a sharp bend on the AFM inlet to clear the radiator, turbos get really hot. Kinda obvious really...
If you're going to do it, do it right. Don't bodge it because you haven't got the right part.
