Can you use an engine hoist? Ok then....you can do this. I would use a engine hoist to get at the mounts, and while the engine is on the hoist, just loosen all the mounts you want to replace and swap em out!

No hoist, but Haynes says to support the motor from underneath using a jack and a wide plank of wood to distribute the weight. This sounds like trouble, but if I'm only doing one mount at a time?

That can also be done as well, but the hoist is just easier if you have one. Just loosen all the mounts at once, and then jack it up.

thanks, I'll give it a try. Most garages are closed for two weeks anyway for the construction holiday, so I don't have much choice.

It should be easy. Why do you need to change your mounts?

as one indication, my shifter bounces up and down a lot on rough roads, and I got 40% discount on motor and transmission mounts, so why not? I'm at 100, 000 KM now so I figured it couldn't hurt.

I don't know about the engine mounts, but the tranny mount is very easy, all I used was the oem jack lifter (is that the right word?)

Yah, it doesn't look too involved, but I just wanted to know if I was going to run into any trouble.
Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes...
