No we are talking about a slightly modded S5 N/A against a stock 1990+ 300zx.

Get a 100 75hp shot of nos and a bigger fuel pump. Non turbo Z's are poop.

I raced an '86 300zx NA auto.

Actually, it was me (88 FC SE/5spd) vs. 86 Celica-Supra NA 5spd vs. 86 300zx NA auto. I so owned them all.

I launched from a roll at about 5mph in 2nd, and just let the engine roll a bit while I waited for them to get up to me... at about 20mph we all punched it, and they started to pull. However, once ye ol' Rotary reached 4200rpm (roughly) my car seemed to just quit ******* around and rip snort outta there. I was at about 90, just getting into 4th, when I slowed down. They were several car lengths behind me. Oh, and this was uphill on a semi-straight bridge.

which ne is it? 100 or 75hp? If they are "poop" then how come it takes the na fc (not poop) so many mods to catch up with it.

Nitrous shots arent measured in HP, they are measured by the amount that is injected.

It was my understanding that a 50 shot, for example, injected a certain amound of N2O into the engine, but it didnt neccesarily give you 50 HP. Upon looking at the NOS website, I found that they are measure in HP (at least by NOS). What i was trying to say is that HP is used as an aproximation of the relative size of the shot and not the actual power gains.

This is how you beat a 300zx....

Find the guy with a non-turbo 300zx 2+2 auto w/ t-tops who just doesnt understand that his car is overweight and thinks his car is fast cuz he has 18 inch chrome rims and challenge him to a race.

Just to make sure you beat him remove your spare tire, jack, and other crap you don't need and go on the subway diet and make sure you know how to drive your car!

Its that easy...

Exactly. You can beat people that have faster cars if you know how to drive yours well and they dont know how to drive theirs. Another thing to look for is someone that has a whole bunch of crappy body kits, large rims, etc. People that do this typically spends lots of mony on bling and none on the motor, plus all that stuff adds weight.

yes nitrous shots are measured in hp but i guess you can say i have a #22 jet or some **** but from my understanding what ever shot you choose it will get you very close to that power to the rear wheels and if you tune it right you can get more than that (feel free to correct me if im wrong). anyways get the tII trans and get some boost some how super charger, turbo or get some spray because with a stock port and no power adders you have a slim chance
