can get 2nd gen for 500bux... opinions

Well, I wish I had some pics of it now... but I'm going to check it out tonight.

Someone I found in my town in selling their 2nd gen rx7 for 500 bux. It's got some body damage and is an r-title (roll over). He fixed the roof and what ever else I guess but let someone borrow it and they hit a poll with it on the passanger side. He said there is a little damage to the quarter pannel.

Also, his dad dumped paint on the hood and he took it off with sand paper pretty much into the mettal.

The engine has 115,000 miles on it and has NEVER been rebuilt. Not a problem for me though... I want to learn about the engines so why not rebuild it.

You guys think it's worth that amount or should I offer him less, like 350 or 400. I'll post pics later tonight.

wow holy S*** that fc's been through a lot. It sounds like its got a lot of body damage (rollover, hitting tree) and the paint (spilling paint on hood) probably isint going to be too pretty. So basically you got some body work to do or maybe a lot, the engine is good you think? that would make it worth the money. Hows the interior? prob not so good either. My buddy got an 88 gtu in the same condition the car your looking at is in. He paid 300 bucks id recomend no more than that

For 300, you could probably part it out and make a profit.

let's pretend for a moment that I'm moving from the civic tuning world in the rx7 world. I've wanted an rx7 for a long time (an fd though) so I don't really want to part it out.

I could buy my friends fd... but he wants way to much for it.
