You won't get **** for power, you REALLY should've researched before wasting your money. Don't expect much more than 200hp if you're lucky and your motor makes it that long.

Yea its sad but true. Honestly the camden kit is more of a motor dress up kit rather than a performance modification.
If you love superchargers, good stuff, but I'll tell you now, there are far better superchargers than the one they got going in the kit.

I just don't get the complaints about this kit. If it adds 35HP or so, that's about all you should expect. Most factory turbo/sc cars are in the +30-50HP range over their NA counterparts - and that's usually with an IC. Look at the S5: 160HP NA vs. 200HP Turbo. Sure you can tweak the turbo for much more, but that's not really the point.
There's a HUGE difference between bolting on this kit, and taking your engine out, tearing it down, porting it, etc etc. One is a weekend project, the other a summer project.

And there's also a difference in spending $4k when you could BUY the turbo car that yields more power for less. Lets not forget that a couple haven't even been able to get over 180 with this thing. You could do a turbo swap with a standalone and better turbo/injectors for less than what it cost to get that thing to 200+.

If you want a bolt-on supercharger, this is one of your only options. But with a little more work, you can make more power for less money...a TII swap is a "bolt-on" (no custom fab required), or you can use SonicRat's NA Turbo kit, or custom fab your own supercharger (twin screw, centrifugal, etc.) and make a lot more power.

The idea behind a Camden blower is good, but the actual product hasn't done of anything. I hope someone somewhere can make it work. 35 HP for 3800 is terrible, since the older Paxton kit was ALWAYS into the 200+ range.

1) Bolt on
2) Lower PSI setting works with 87 octane
3) Wider powerband than other superchargers (low & high RPM power)

Most of the other SC's dynos I've seen have "sudden power jumps" at undesirable RPMS... not what I want.

the complaints come because these kits are for cars that aren't worth as much as the kits cost and therefore people can't see spending that on them. if it was a bolt up kit for a 2005 car that added 35-50hp, no one would be complaining that it cost 4k.
i'm not saying the kit is done all that wonderfully, but if you look at other car and other kits, it's not far off.
friends MT90 s/c project sees a pretty durn flat torque curve. not a power monster but not bad for a bargain project. a screw or roots type should do this. the power jump you see is probably a centrifugal s/c which has too spool up and then the power comes on much like a turbo with lag.

rx7fromcal, that is truley dissappointing. You could sell your kit to the guy who made this thread tho
