Camden EFI Supercharger Kit

Well, ever since Ive seen this kit under progress, Ive just been itching to buy it. Im not after huge HP numbers, and I like the smooth linear powerband of a S/C, and I like to be different. These are some reasons I dont do a turbo swap. Anyway, Ive been in contact with them, waiting for some info on the kit, and they got back to me in a few emails, and I am more than disappointed.. They said that the kit should be available in the next couple months, and they gave me the dyno info also. They said that the test car had a ported engine, and aftermarket intake and exhaust. The number was 180RWHP..... Now does this seem just a *TAD* low to anyone else? Ive seen 170RWHP on a stock port N/A... WTF? Ive so been looking forward to this kit, and when they said this it felt like someone kicked me in the stomach.. Oh well... Maybe something was terribly wrong on that dyno run, well see when they announce the official numbers on the website when the kit is released...

That can't be right. Probably a typing error or something. Did they mention what kind of engine management system they were using?

Are there any other details than HP numbers? What will you need to run it? what is a ball park figure on cost? anything really. I wouldn't mind going with an s/c because its not a turbo

IIRC, these numbers are based on a stock car with a stock fuel system. I've gotten 160 RWHP out of a stockport N/A with a standalone with far too little exhaust, so I'd expect these numbers to go waaay up once they get this thing dialled in.

I'll also add that, when stock, my TII put down 175 RWHP, so they're not doing horribly.

I wish they'd of given me a little more info, as to how much boost it was running, etc.. I know that they advertize their carb supercharger kits at 270HP (Im assuming on stock engine and exhaust?) so I expected close to that with the EFI kit. (within 15HP or so..) 180RWHP on a stock engine with stock exhaust wouldve been killer, but with a full exhaust and a ported engine, I dont think so... I really hope that they screwed something up, becuase NO ONE is going to shell out that kind of money for that kind of HP. You can get that N/A...

Atkins test car with this system was at 7Stock and DAMN that thing is fast. Watched him grab 2nd and lay some nice rubber ... lol
Cant remember the numbers but it was more like 260hp at the rear. He drove it the 2400 miles round trip from just south of Seattle and didnt have any problems. He averaged 21 mpg on the way down at 85+ on stock fuel system and ECU. Atkins says the molds are being forged now so Im sure it not to far away. Couldnt pin him down on any pricing though but I may find some more at the next local meet here. Im getting 1 of the first production models so I'll keep ya informed.

Well I wouldn't expect more than 220 or so to the wheels with 7lbs or so. Its not even intercooled is it?(that would be a project for you Rxmfn7 ) Then with a TII fuel system and standalone I bet you could get a bigger pulley to push more like 12psi fairly safely. Just remember, you aren't going to be able to use the NA drivetrain long if you have over 200rwhp.

I was talking to one of the Atkins just today, the lower intake manifold for the EFI supercharger kit is done and the UIM should be done and the kits should be on sale by November. There should be a group buy on both the carbureted and EFI kits very soon through one of their dealers Turbo Super Cars.com. I will keep you guys posted.
