Calling Rotary Experts: How do my plugs look?
Yo,
Here are my plugs after 7,000 miles:
It is Leading - Trailing - Leading - Trailing.
I thought I would throw this up for giggles.
How do they look?

They look great to me, perhaps a *hair* lean, but on an NA that isnt a real big deal anyway. But in general, that is exactly what you want. Guys with turbo cars cannot expect theirs to look like that, theyll always be darker due to needing to run richer.

Light gray deposits are textbook perfect for NA piston engines and I hear that NA rotaries run best toward 14.7:1 af. anyhow. Running some premix mught help as some types of two stroke oil have detergents in them to clean off engine deposits. But wired sixth ports? Why o why, Kevin? A true GTUs deserves all the low end torque it can get, my brotha.

Yo,
I hear you my brotha. Dana and I are working on it, I just bought a whole buttload of Hose Techniques silicon hose...we're going to replace all the vacuum lines when we put on the ported manifolds.
I'm also going to throw in the Pineapple sleeves at the same time...I need to get on it for SevenStock 6.
It's getting close!

What's the deal when they are orange? Heat I assume.
I've had that happen once. I pulled out the plugs and there was the normal black colour, but had hints of orange. What do you think?

Ahh who am I kidding. I'm going to be working on my turbo 13B project by summer '04, so..

NOT in my GXL btw..
Could the 'hair' lean on Rarest's plugs be due to wired open aux. ports?
I would imagine so, but your the expert..
hmmm... here is mine after 12k miles. it was time for a change!
I'm interested in why one is so worn compared to the others.
all plugs were "trailings". crane box on the leadings.

I've gone back to leadings / trailings now.

Those almost look like mine when I pull them out. Mine are usually a little more evenly colored though, without the spottiness on the leads but I pull mine after 6k usually. I was wondering the reason my rear leads wear faster than the fronts too, like Scott 89t2 ?
