Called Mazda dealer!!!!
Called Mazda dealer!!!!
Hey i called my local mazda dealer around me in winnipeg to see what a 13b rotary engine would cost. So the guy told me around $4350 so i told him where he could put that engine!! So do you guys know any where else i can look for a engine in Canada? I have also looked at Mazdarx7engines.com and that the best price that i have found but if you guys know any where else i can look for engines for 2nd gen??? thx for any help
www.usedengines.com thats where me and two of my friends got our j-specs. ive had no probs with the engine, neithe have my friends. i got mine for 850 bucks.
what year and model? must be a non turbo? they all used to be around $2400cnd or so up untill a couple months ago but mazda just jacked the prices of the non turbo engines up to over 4k like you said. I think the turbo engines are still down at 2k or so...
probably so people will ditch there N/A cars and buy RX8's instead of replacing the engine.

What the turbo are cheaper ??? i don't think so i ask the guy for just a base price on how much it is looking at running me?!? i Don't got the car yet so i can't tell you i am looking for a rx7 like around 88-91 for the year. i want to buy one for like 500-900bucks with a blown engine and then replace it!! Do you guy got any question about what i am doing or question that i should ask Mazda ?

Well, if you buy an RX7 with a blown engine, you can save the trouble of finding a crate motor and send it out to be rebuilt (just private message hypntyz7) He'll hook you up with whatever your little heart can desire
I think that'd be a better route than taking chances on a crate engine that you may have to rebuild soon anyway, but that's just my opinion.

Try different dealers. I believe list price on basically any rotary engine is just about 3500 plus a 1000 dollar core charge. (So theres your 4300 quote)
The good thing is a lot of dealers have been offering Rotary engines at COST to you for $1937 plus 1000 core. Shop around different dealers because some didnt get the hint yet. I know Malloy Mazda is at the $1940 price + core chrge and a dealer local to me is also at 1937 as well.

Here's some Canadian sites:
www.rotaryengine.com
www.a-spec.ca
Their prices are a lot less than the dealer, lol...
