Good news! The rear bracket is a success. It will require grinding a little material of the rear hub and the caliper bracket just like the Super Now bracket does.
..and the bad news. The front is no go. It would require machining the front hub, which kills the simplicity and low cost of the idea. Thankfully other front brake upgrades are available.
I'll have a rough idea pricing released shortly, in the mean time i need to figure out how to promote the product sale without breaking the forum rules. A PM on the subject from a mod would be extremely helpful.

I run FD calipers up front. But as you noted purely for cosmetic reasons.

not to take away from his skill set but there is probably a reason it has never been made, be great to just relocate the caliper and run bigger rotors up front but seems if it were do-able someone would have done it already

Nah. It's not hard. It's just a matter of effort and resources to develop it. I ran a Mandeville BBK setup on my FD for years. Simple and effective. Used OEM FD calipers split and widened, a simple plate steel bracket (yup just a rectangular piece of thick plate steel with 4 holes drilled in it and some angles welded to it for structural support) to space the caliper out from the hub, and massive 2 piece rotors. I'm certain it can be done ...and not with much more effort.
The problem with the front is that the FC hub diameter is larger than the inside diameter of the FD rotor. You would have to have the hubs machined, or spend some serious time with a grinder.
the rear is the same way but the hub has ears around the lug studs vs full diameter, that are easy to grind down.
I have all of the resources I need to make it happen, but lets be honest, there aren't going to be many people who want to have their front hubs machined, plus pay for the kit for brakes rotors that are less than an inch larger diameter and no thicker, when they can buy the ronin kit that is a significant upgrade, bolt it up and be done with it.
We would never sell enough to justify making them.

Dang it. Thought it was just a a caliper relo issue. That's a bummer. Oh well.

Crispy, Trust me, I'm just as disappointed as anyone. Now I have brand new front FD rotors + pads and nothing to do with them.. I guess I'll just have to buy another FD..

Would love something like this, but with RX-8 brake discs, my understanding is that they are even larger than the FDs. Me personally, wouldnt mind paying a machine shop for machining the oem hubs.
I would be willing to give the rx8 front rotor a shot. The initial dimensions I'm seeing are promising. The rx8 rotor is 24mm thick vs 22mm thick for the rx7, however I did find a picture of an FD caliper swap on an rx8, unsure how they did it though
Rx8 rotors are too thick. Mk3 supra rotors may be a match though.

As long as there is an equivalent option for the rears (and everything fits under a 17" wheel). Reason why I mentioned the RX-8 disc was because if we were able to fit both front and rears, the break balance would be very similar to the OEM one. If we were to go way larger on the front as opposed to the rears, there will be a brake balance issue. Please don't quote me, that's my understanding.

The rears have already started production, they will use 294mm FD rotors.
The front is still in development so I am open to suggestions. The 2 options which I identified are 300mm and 330mm. I will be test fitting the 330mm rotors tonight. If more people want to use 300mm rotors, I can go that route instead.
The brake bias would be effected, theoretically the rear rotors will see an increase in torque of roughly 6.5%, while the 300mm fronts would yield an 8.7% increase and 330mm would yeild a 19.5% increase.
As far as how noticable this increase would be, the ronin kit is close to 330mm diameter, so I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has the kit
little preview of the 330mm front rotors! The pictures do these rotors no justice. They're huge on the FC. There is a little over 1/4 between the caliper wheel, 17" wheels or larger will be a must.
The rear brackets are almost finished, we may have them anodized, so that would add a little more time until they've available for sale.
The front brackets are nearly finished in the development stage, just making some final tweaks to minimize pad overhang. There will be a small amount of material that must be removed from the caliper (a couple minutes of work using a hand file), this has to do with the change in rotor geometry and was unavoidable. The good news is that the caliper doesn't have to be taken apart or even removed at the brake line(although it would make it easier to do so)
Not trying to threadjack, but I wanted to share my DIY 350mm rear BBK. Probably a bit too much for most, and requires 18" wheels. It also required grinding the caliper brackets since the radius is much different. But still able to get full pad coverage.
The rear brackets are done, sitting on a shelf, they only waiting on me finishing up the instructions and having a set tested by someone other than myself. They will be available very shortly!
The front brackets which use a 330mm rotor are very very close to being done as well. teaser picture of the front kit kit tucked behind some 18's.
If you need someone to test the rear bracket let me know. I track my car quite a bit.
I wish I saw this earlier! I was going to make a set for myself to adapt SN95 Mustang rear rotors to my FC. Huge selection of rotors and they are dirt cheap. They are close to identical to FD standard rear rotors, a hub bore adapter just needs to be made.
