(Just recently I moved, I'm not aware of testing procedures yet)
At inspection stations what do they check besides pollutant levels???
What equipment does the state require on vehicle???

 

the quick and dirty response is that everything that came on the car has to be on the car... all the cats, all the valves, everything.... if there are any modifications to your system outside of cat-back exhaust, it's illegal. That being said, very little is actually checked - there's a visual inspection where they poke their head into your engine bay, and a dyno-like sniffer test where they test pollutants at speed.
