CAI, washer resivor relocated

OkayI used a reactive intake filter with heat shield, I moved my fuel pump thingy and cut a 3 inch hole abovce the washer resivor (removed), it is 8 inches from the ground, so I'm not worried about water, in fact it's been raining here lately and all is well, I cut my brake ducting and made the fillter inline with e the ducting...here are some pics

I did something similar with my old FC. Take a look:

The tube pushed air through the hole the washer bottle left and into my cold air box. Worked pretty good.

I'm looking into doing the same thing, but not at the sacrifice of my brake ducting.

you know a while ago i was thinking of doing something close to this, and everyone said it's stupid to to this because you block the break ducts and so i said your prob. right. well, long story short i look at an s5 and no brake duckting i look at all these body kits and no brake ducting?? hmmm...just something to think about i'm sure the ducking is there for a reason but, it can be changed probably without negative side effects

blue_gxl has a point the S5's that come stock with fog light, the fog lights are in the brake ducting anyway, besides race cars really only need brake ducting, unless you drive around at 80mph, and being stoping 20ft, yeah I think your brakes would be hot as hell, but for most of us driving around town at 40-50mph, and I don'y know about you guys but when I come to a stop I make it slow and smooth, sometimes I'll even down shift

BlackRx7, you are my hero for today! My windshield washers stopped working a while ago, so I have no problem with just scrapping the resevoir, and I have been trying to come up with an idea for a CAI. I'm so happy now...I'm going to check it out tonight and see what I can do.

Sweet, I just took my car to a muffler shop and had them cut a slopy *** hole, then I smooth it out with my dremmel when I got home, I couldn't find a reciprocation saw blade for my dads air power saw, oh well, alls well that ends well

P.S. I might remove my brake ducting and just get some dry tubing and do want Wan did

I am going to see if I can get some air from the radiator opening...maybe a couple of those squares that are covered or something. I'll have to cut a pretty big hole to get my filter in there, but I'm sure I can work something out.

I took out my washer resevoir, but haven't finished the CAI yet. I haven't decided where I want to get the air from and what I want to use between the filter and the AFM. I also got sidetracked and took out most of my A/C system and I think I'm going for the P/S next. I'll get some pics of mine when I get it done.

Do you have the HKS AFM adapter plate? What is the diamater of the opening? I'm not sure if it's 2.5" or 3", but I think I am going to use 3" piping no matter what...overkill is good. What did you use to connect the PVC to the AFM? Putting the filter on will be easy, it's the air flow meter I'm worried about. Well, that, and cutting a hole in the car.
