Cabin A/C Box removal?

Cabin A/C Box removal?

I took out my Cabin A/C Box today.. I was wondering if anybody knows if Mazda made plastic piping (that took the place of the missing A/C box) that went from the fan box to the heater core?

... I mean some models must of came without A/C so there must be an OEM piece?

Any suggestions?

I took out my box and actually (gulp) made a connecting tube out of duct tape.

Maybe it is ghetto, maybe it won't last. We'll see. I ran strips of duct tape from the blower opening to the heater core opening, one slightly overlapping the next, to create a thin skin tunnel that is air tight and connects the two units. I reused the brackets from the air box to help hold the tape onto the two units.

This was my solution after fabricating one from some thin gauge sheetmetal from home depot didn't work.

You might try some slight modification to a 6" diameter drainage pipe (black flexible plastic) from home depot. That was my other option, but I figured I'd try the duct tape tube first. It's lighter weight.

There are such pieces but I've never seen one in person...every car in the junkyard has AC.
When I deleted my AC I just gutted the box and reinstalled it, works fine.
I thought about trying some Home Depot ducting but the opening lips it seals to are not round and it looked like it would be tough to get the round duct to fit properly.
