a/c removal

i have a 87 rx and my a/c has no charge left in it. Im thinking of just pulling it out.

will this cause any problems? and also what parts should i leave if any?

If you are doing a full removal, the only other part you will want is the ducting that goes where the condenser is, under the passenger side dash. Other than that, pulling everything will cause no problems.

Ok cool, i pulled an a/c out of a olds one time and the car wouldnt start without it, so i was just checking to make sure. Any idea of how much horse the a/c is dragging down?

The pulley just free wheels until you turn it on. Not much loss, just dead weight. When its on, its magnetic clutch connects it to the pump. Its an electro magnet and it puts a big load on the alternator as well as the extra power needed to drive the pump.
