a/c fan

My a/c fan is constanly on with the key on and I found the temp sensor on the back of the water pump broken. I was told that that sensor is what runs the fan correct? So that would be why its on?

You are correct. The A/C fan's sensor is on the top side of the thermostat housing, at least on S4 turbo engines.

Unplugging the sensor on the thermostat cover, and properly taping it off will keep the fan from coming on. If you just let the wire rest on the block, it will ground the relay and turn the fan on.

S5 NA's have it, probably TII's as well. I believe it comes on at 225*F + coolant temp/ AC operation.

Mine runs all the time too, I've been having some strange battery drain problems as well. Actually, it Used to run. I guess since its not made for constant operation it wore out pretty quickly, and started making stange noises. guess I should replace that sensor...
