A/C Evaporator Fitting Size Information
Hi
I'm considering the possibility of building A/C lines for FC owners that need alternative hose routing to accommodate mods or an engine swap. I only own a FD, so getting info on FCs is restricted to what I can find online. Doing what I consider thorough searches on rx7club.com I've come up with all kinds of answers for the evaporator fitting sizes. Answer ranging from standard #8 and #6 fittings to "they're -AN fittings."
Anyway, I know that the FC came with two system options: Sanden and Nippondenso. What I would like to know is precisely what are the sizes and thread pitches of the low (large) and high (small) fittings coming out of the evaporator at the firewall for each system (Sanden and Denso)? I'd also like to know what gender the fittings are and if they use o-rings or if they're flared fittings.
If anyone knows for sure please help a brother out
