A/C Control unit. ?

The A/C control unit on 2 friends cars do absolutly nuthing when you press the buttons or move slider rails. Of course no AC or Heat b/c the blower never turns on. All fuses under dash and in engin bay are good. Is it a dead unit? Or is there a normal cause here? One of them worked 2 days ago.
