a/c compressor, won't come off

I'm trying to rip out the a/c system from my car. I have the Sanden compressor and connot get to the bottom fastening bolt. I got the top two off already. Will it help to remove the power steering pump? Or can it be done with it in place? Any special tools I need to get the compressor out? Any special method to do it?

Thanks

IIRC, I used a long extension, the socket, and a lot of cussing.

You can remove it with the PS in place. You might consider reinstalling one of the top bolts to keep it snug while you remove the harder ones. That way it doesn't move around on you.

G'luck.

The bolt "stays" with the AC compressor when you remove it.&nbsp I start with a ratchet and 12mm socket.&nbsp When you get close to the sub frame, I either switch to a 12mm combo wrench or (ir you're lucky) spin the bolt off with your finger the rest of the way...
