Bye Bye exhaust inserts
Bye Bye exhaust inserts
The guy who is porting my housings said i should grind away the sound dampers before he ported cuz he didn't want to do it.
First try rear housings, opps went a bit to far, but at least i didn't scratch the housing surface

lol everyone in my auto class was relieved that i had finished most of the people are like half deaf now.
does anyone know if i removed the entire insert would be better or worse as i was told by the guy porting my housings.
his reason was that the diameter is 2" with the sleeve and 2.5" without it, and my RB headers are 2" dia each. So the exhaust gases would hit a 90 degree wall before going through the header

really i thought it was fine, thats what the shop foreman that is porting it for me said. The bit didn't touch the surface. But if its that bad i could always swap it for a TII sleeve
Keep the sleeves for your application. You could just use the turbo sleeves instead of grinding...
