Buying wheels and tires today
hey guys, i'm buying new wheels and tires today, and need a quick answer... i've done some searching but just keep coming up with different opinions i just need a direct answer of will it fit, and will it look good
the whole wheel and tire package is costing just over 800 so i'm not expecting show-worthy appearance, i just need to know if its going to look good.
the wheels are 17x7 +38 front and 17x9 +35 rear
and the tires are 215/45 fronts and 225/40 rear...
please let me know what you guys think

If you care about whether or not your speedometer will be accurate, you want to buy new tires that have as close to the same overall diameter as your stock tires did.
I see you have a '91. If it's an NA, it came with 205/60-15 stock. If you want 215s up front on a 17" wheel, the closest overall diameter to stock would actually be a 215/45-17. For the rears, if you want a 235 section width on a 17" wheel, you'd want 235/40-17.
Remember that aspect ratio is a percentage of the section width of the tire, which is why a 215/45-17 is almost the same height as a 235/40-17.
You might want to play around with the Tire Size Calculator from Miata.net. That does all the math for you in terms of overall diameter and comparing what you're looking at with stock:
