Buying a used 2nd Gen RX-7
Hey, I'm planning to buy an RX-7. I saw one today, and I arranged a meeting with the owner to check it out. There didn't seem to be anything wrong with the car, the passenger window was loose and there was a few small rust spots. Other than that, it looks great. It has 85k miles and new brakes and calipers were just installed. He's selling it for $2,500. Is there anything else I need to check? Thanks.

Turbo? N/A? Gtu?GTUs? Which year? All of these could have an impact on price- the turboII and verts command a bit more- just what are you looking at here?

unless i'm an idiot, which i won't rule out, i believe his location is Alaska. i think that could also have an impact on price.. and could also be a little reason for rust.

A true gamble.

I used to live in Anchorage....the only thing I'd be worried about is finding a specalist to work on your car if something goes bad. And Juneau is about as BFE as you can get. Actually, this being off topic, I was at a party on Saturday and I ran into a kid from Anchortown as well. It's been 8 or so years since I was last there but he said Wasilla was growing like crazy and there was talk of once again relocating the capital to a more accessible location. Any thoughts on that? Juneau is way too far removed and remote. No offense though.
