buying a rx7 sitting for a while what do i need to get it running

So I am going to buy a 87 na i believe tomorrow I havent seen it yet, He says it has been sitting for about six months, is there anything that I need to do special in order to get it running well enough to drive it home. I know the seals are probably dry, and may have bad gas, I just dont want to blow a rotor trying to get the damn thing started. I will probably run 2cycle in it in order to get it to town to do an oil change and check the fluids and stuff. You know the normal things, should I take out the spark plugs and throw some 2 cycle in the housing just in case?
Thanks in advance
Nick.

New plugs, possibly a spare battery (or set of jumper cables), maybe a splash of newer gas.

I think it might help to get a little bit more info; as in, did it *stop* running 6 months ago due to something going bad? (ie: blown motor, heh)

The 2-stroke oil is a good idea, might wanna put some in and turn the shaft with the plugs out and see if you hear the popping (if you don't have a compression tester).

How much is he looking to charge you for it?

Check air, spark, and fuel first things. If by chance it floods out when you try and start it pop the plugs out and take some WD 40 and soak the apex seals. Then use a screwdriver or other tool to push the apex seals in and out to make sure they are moving and sealing. If that doesnt help id suggest leaving it be unless you can pinpoint the cause. I have heard of a few cars gettin sold for cheap because of a "blown motor" aka stuck seals due to ***** footing the car "Carbon Build Up"

he said that he bought it from his neighbor, the neighbor said it was running rough. They bought a new car and he bought it off of them to make some quick cash with a tune up. I figure probably grounding or a tps sensor. if nothing else it could be a blown rotor. I know what a blown rotor feels, sounds like. I bought a used rx7 that ran for about a week before the damn thing blew when i was starting it in the local little ceasers. He has two kids and right after bought it his wife got pregnant again so he moved the car out to his quanset. And now just wants what he has into it due to medical bills and crap. Who knows. I will bring a new battery, and plugs, and see. I was just wondering if there was anything special that I should make sure is working before trying to start it.
