Buying RX7 Series 5

Hi guys
i am new to this formus
and just wondering if i could get some help on mazda rx7.

I had a nissan pulsar et turbo and did not exprience any issues with it for a year or more.
got my self a mazda Astina 323 94 model and is a buetiful car to drive but it is not for ME!!

I am here to try somthing new. now i have been in a series 5 rx7 befor but all i hear about rotary is that they are not reliable and break often.
i am not a modifing type of person. the only mods i would do to it is a blow off valve.

Just wondering if series 5 rx7 13b turbo is a reliable car and is it worth buying.
thanks alot.

Its all in maintnence, If you take car fot he car it will work great, and be reliable. If you don't take care of it, good luck!

Rotarys are high maitnence cars, oil needs to be added regularly, as the Wankle engine burns oil. There are random little tins that will need to be fixed and replaced, every so often. Use the search button to bring up other "looking to buy an rx-7" "want to buy an rx-y threads" and you'll get a good idea

Try to get one which has had it's engine rebuilt less that 30k mile ago. It's gonna have to be done sooner or later - so better later than sooner!!

if everything is in tip top shape and maintained prperly you could drive from one of of north american and back. it gets 27 miles/gallon, so that is about 10 l per 100 kilometers. (give or take for rounding)

the stock car (ecu) has a MAF sensor. i believe (not sure) its usually suggested you dont go with an open-vented blow of valve.
you may want to look at getting a piggyback fuel controller and tuning the car a bit. i imagine you could take a tad bit of fuel out saving gas mileage and gaining a couple Kw.
if the car is in good condition, you should be able to make a road trip just fine. like any car, its bad to have any parts going bad or leaking (ie oil, oil pan, radiator, hoses, water pump, block). i made a 380 mile (550-600Km?) round trip with a high mileage engine. never had any troubles. all cars are different, though.
