Question Buying an old RX...

I'm considering buying an old (2nd Generation) RX-7 to mess with and rebuild. I know the basics of rotary engines and how they work and all that, but here's the question. What should I look for in a potential project?
I'm pretty mechanically inclined, and I feel like I could fix just about anything that I could diagnose, but what kinds of problems do these cars typically have? Is there a "Newbie" thread somewhere or an RX-7 FAQ? A friend of mine had a NA '87 with a mild port job and it was so much fun to work on that I want one of my own. Any thoughts, opinions, etc. are appreciated.

Have you tried to "search"? Up in the top right hand corner is the button. Look for "newbie" "new to forum," stuff like that. Make sure you search the 2nd Gen forum only though. Good luck.

Oh and most things that go wrong are little electrical things(ie: windshield wipers, windows, warning lights, etc). Also they flood alot and you need to change the pulsation dampner to avoid an engine fire.

I've been living in Tuscaloosa these past 5or6 years (Took my time... LOL) getting a degree in advertising from UA, but I just moved in with my fiancee in Birmingham.

Do you plan on building this car for race or for street. You think the NA is fun to work on , Play with turbo
