info on Buying S5 (exchange s4) engine from Mazda

Basically when my engine blows I figure getting the s5 engine to replace the s4 will be more effective.

Engine electronics are not an issue since I will be receiving a Microtech ltx8 very soon. Nor emissions. Will the s4 intake manifold bolt up? What about the tranny? I am Premixing.

Also will mazda except the s4 engine for the core engine??

If I do this, I will need an s5 turbo car's vin number as the dealer I go to is **** about that.

S5 manifolds are better, use them if possible. The tranny will bolt up fine. And they should accept it for a core. Are they rebuilding it, or giving you the new one and taking the old one?

Ah, a reman. Yeah, they should take the s4. I doubt they even look closely at it to determine whether its a s5/4.

the s5 vdi manifold flows better for a non-ported engine. though if you do have a ported engine the s4 flows better. course you can always port the s5 and it is even better for a ported engine.
