Buying an fc
What's up guys? Long time no see Since I sold my RX7, i've missed it like crazy. I need another one!!!!!! What should I look for? I want a RELIABLE TII. That's kinda an oxymoron... but oh well I am willing to pay up to $10,000 CND. I want it to have a relatively new engine/recently rebuilt, prefferably street ported, low miles... etc. Any suggestions? Should I just get a TII shell and buy a JDM engine/tranny?
I now drive a Subaru SVX, and its completely different. I need my RX7 back!

Check the for sale/wanted section... I've seen a few nice ones. One Sick Mo Fo of a TII somewhere in Canada. T11 I think the owner's name is. It's a sick habit ain't it? Can't get enough of the rotary!

There is a red, nice looking one in the current autotrader for 5k CDN. 114k kms.
If I had 10 grand to spend. I'd get it rebuilt right away. That ensures reliability. Then go from there....
There is nothing like spending a lot of money on mods, then having your engine go.

http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/buy1.htm . Though it doesn't cover turbo stuff (yet).
Basically, besides the list above, pull the TID off and check the compressor wheel for excessive front-back (ANY is bad) and side to side (some is OK) movement. Also pull the intercooler pipes and check for excessive oil.
Make sure th car boosts properly.
