buying advice needed

I am about to but a '86. I have a 1st gen an.. '85 with a 12A in it. I am not sure if I should buy it though..

I need some of the parts off it to put into my '85 project though. I am planning on takeing the fuel tank, fuel pump, ingition system, engine, wireing harness, oil cooler and the radiator. The car is going to cost me 350. Its got an automatic.

The car starts fine. Doesn't rev over 2k. I checked the oil level and its very low. I looked for oil leaks and found an oil leak around the oil lines and oil sender. I think that the cats are cloged. Would this car be a good investment for my plans? I know I have posted something like this around some say to by it and sell it for parts because its worth more as parts. The car has no power windows. Besides haveing a automatic tranny the car apprears to be the base model.

If I get this engine would be possible to make a 13B 4port with the standard EFI system?

I really need some advice. I don't want to make a bad move and have something laying around that I will not be useing.

thanks for everyones support

uhm, i would make sure its running solid since you want to swap it. was the car ever overheated?

the oil may just be low because of the oil injection, eats about 1qt/1000 miles

and what do you mean make a 13b 4 port? its a 6port since its n/a like the GSL-SE

I wouldn't put the radiator in, theyre old and the plastic endtanks are somewhat fragile, if you can just get an aftermarket one.

and yeah, you can always part it out.

only plus about the automatic besides the price is that you get the auto counterweight to get a lightweight flywheel

they swap t2 harness's and ecu's and engines into so i see no reason why an n/a can't be swapped

well the thing is that I want to make something thats going to beat the carp out of a 12A bridge ported engine. If I go with the 13B 4 port then when i get more money together I can turbo and bridge port it. I am not sure if I can keep efi if I go from 6 ports to 4. I can use the houseings from the 12A.

the car starts and idles fine. the car is stock and has all the emmisson equipment on it. The radiator looks new. some parts have some oxidation and the only part where I can see thats dirty is area where the oil lines are.

The fact that it doesn't rev over 2k makes me think something hidden is bad. I just don't have knowledge about what could be causeing it.
