i will be 2nd owner off this turbo 2..older guy bought it in 1986..has 76k on it..just had a rebuild from coolant leak..it has hks cat-back,hks intercooler kit,hks intake,rims..has a aftermarket computer called ems it looks really old,plus it has old boost controller but everything still works..anyone know anyone who has ran the EMS computer..and if so how is it..

 

ems as far as I can recall just stands for engine management system, i don't think that's the actual name of the ems, but I could be wrong.

 

you might be right..im not sure what brand..im going back tommoroow to put a deposit on it..so he will hold the car..i know it's old.i think he got it put on in 96 or 97..the car runs good..it's just really dirty..hasnt been washed in 3 years he said..but it should clean up real nice..i drove it and on stock boost its fast.alot faster on 10 psi..it also has bigger injectors..

EMS just stands for Engine Management Sytem. It's a generic name for any aftermarket (or factory) fuel injection system. Try to find out what brand. Most likely it will be Haltech or Microtech.

If this is you first RX-7, I don't recommend you buy one pre-modified unless you are willing to learn quickly. The experience you have with the car will be directly related to the quality of the work that was done before you.
