Butterfly brace

Has anyone tried to install the Flyinmiata butterfly brace. I searched and found that people had installed the frame rail braces but not the butterfly section. I found a post that said the distance between the frame rails on the Fc was between 26-27 inches. I measured mine and came out closer to 29 inches. The Miata is 28 3/4 inches.

Any thoughts?

Doug

This may bolt right into an FC coupe, but I have a convertible. The frame rails have additional bracing behind the door and at the front. I would have to cut the frame rail braces down to about 35 inches from 43. I'm trying to decide if it would add that much to the rigidity of the car if I cut it down that much.

It will likely not be AS stiff as an uncut unit, but it may just be worth a shot.

All I'm saying is:

I think there might be clearance issues if you dont have stock exhaust. I have the turbo down from racingbeat and it lowers the whole exhaust a bit.
