Busted Rotar Housing = Teh Uncool!
So I pulled my engine out and brought it down to Rotary Reliablity. (Great guys, good service) I was confident that it was going to be an easy rebuild because of the good internals. The car ran "okay", the only problem was it ran really rich and I got stummped trying to fix it so I just ripped the whole thing out to get it rebuilt. Much to my suprise, they ripped the boy appartent and found 2 apex seals gone and the housings ruined. That would explain the flooding, but I was completely suprised how well it ran with 2 apex seals gone. I had no idea the engine was in such bad shape. If it ran like that with 2 apex seals gone, I can't wait to see what it feels like when its fixed!! I'll post pictures soon of the housings.
2 apex seals gone and you didn't notice it? Jesus. The must have ran like **** from the start.
a single apex seal gone would mean that at best you were running on one rotorface while the other two were airpumps.
So with two gone in one housing would mean no compression while one in each means you ran on 1 face in each housing.
